I recently hit a sale on Swanson’s broth. Cans selling for ¢47, plus I had a coupon for ¢50 of 5, making it ¢37 a can. So naturally, I went a little crazy. But really, there’s nothing that makes a soup better than using the homemade, slow all day simmered variety.

As a kid, I thought that if you remembered a dead person, those thoughts would elevate them a notch in heaven. I have to admit, I still recall that thought process today while reading the obits, thinking about a dead love one (or pet). So while reading In Jennie’s Kitchen, I thought I would honor her deceased husband Mikey, by making this amazing Creamy Peanut Butter Pie.
